We now have a new state of the art ultrasound scanning machine. The advanced scanner is equipped with a probe to scan the abdominal organs, including the liver, spleen, kidneys, pancreas, adrenal glands and prostate and a specialized cardiac probe for superior detailed investigation of the heart.

The vets have been on further education courses to improve their scanning and learn more advanced techniques.

Scanning is a very useful aid in recognizing and diagnosing many internal problems. This new scanner will be an invaluable addition to our diagnostic equipment at Darley House.

We are very excited now our new kennels are up and running. The old kennels were becoming dated so we have replaced them with state-of-the-art kennels designed to make everything as comfortable as possible for dogs who need to stay in the surgery. The kennel area has bespoke heating and ventilation which can be set according to the individual needs of the patients day and night. Each kennel has a fitted thick cosy rug and blankets which are laundered between patients. Special opaque partitions and clear glass doors ensure privacy and a feeling of security and safety for the in-patients while they can be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between occupants. The glass doors enable good observation by the vets and nurses.
We hope the new kennels help to make stays at Darley House a pleasant experience for our patients.

This is the heart-warming moment when Yorkshire Terrier Doodles was reunited with his ecstatic owner after 2 years apart. Doodles was stolen from the garden when he was 6 months old. Although he was microchipped and his owners informed Petlog, the microchip database, Doodles was never found......... until two weeks ago. Doodles was found wandering on a street in Farnworth by a member of the public and brought in to Darley House.  We scanned him, contacted Petlog with his microchip number and they then contacted his owner Zoe.
Zoe rushed down to Darley House where she and Doodles had an emotional reunion.  Doodles was so excited to see Zoe, leaping up and licking her face over and over again.  Even after two years he hadn't forgotten his beloved owner.  Zoe was over the moon.
Now, two weeks later,  Zoe says  "Doodles has settled in as if he has never been away".

What a wonderful ending!
